I am down to a canoe for the moment.... but had another Fiberglass lakey "back achey" boat offered to me cheap. (motor/trailer/boat)

My father in law just passed down 1969 19' Corson fishing boat to my wife and I.
That is one nice unit. He had it for about 25 years and loved every season with it. Got to do some interior work but very excited about getting on the lakes, rivers and of shore this year. My boy wants to try his hand at some big shark fishing. Corsons are nice boats...built in Madison Maine. I'ld restore her and take her shark fishing for sure.

We had an old Corson in the 70's that my dad didn't quite tie down well enough and it came off the trailer at 55 mph! I was sure glad he had an electric winch on the trailer to get the boat back on. We painted the bottom and used it another 5 years or so, before he sold it!

My in-laws are frm Madison and they own Corsons. So much for brand loyalty being dead. My father in law has a red and white one with twin 40's on it and a Bimini Top. Great trolling boat !!! Keep the old girl and run her forever.

That's funny.
I was telling a guy I work with up around bangor area about the boat and he looked at me and asked "Greg, whats my last name" I thought about it said "Corson". Never occurred to me. He said his grandfather and grandfathers brothers used to build those boats in an old barn when Scott was growing up. He told me that they stopped making the boats at some point. Is there another family that bought up the name? As far as I can tell Corson is no longer in business. Is that wrong? This boat has a Johnson 60hp and an Evinrude 6hp for a kicker. I just got it back from the motor man for spring servicing. I think I will get her on the water before I get too involved in the interior work. Can't stand to wait. Never shark fished before off shore but have been watching a lot on TV "SharkHunters East vs. West" That's some wild stuff.
